3D Design and Modeling
Steampunk Airship
Steampunk Airship - This began with a sketch I did, then was further refined in a profile drawing. The currently untextured model has finer details than the pencil sketch, and accounts for how a crew might run a steampunk airship, with the addition of a bow sprit and yardarms, sail like lifting fans, portholes for cannon and gantry nets.
I assembled a montage of Chicago's Millenium park I took from the 33rd floor of the Aon Center to serve as a backdrop to the renders, giving a sense of scale, flight and height.
Dieselpunk Aircraft
Dieselpunk Aircraft - I've periodically drawn science fiction based aircraft, and I thought this would make an excellent 3D model so I can really explore the possibilities.
Chicago El Train
Chicago "L" Train 3D Model - This was started for a client, but the project was dropped. Based from photos, observation, and riding the "L" to work.
Edmund Fitzgerald
Edmund Fitzgerald - A 3D Modeling passion, this photorealistic render began in college in 2004, and has steadily progressed since then. The model has been featured in both the Minneapolis Star Tribune and The Toledo Press, various theatrical and event posters, and was printed on a large format printer for a 20 foot long sufboard to surf Lake Michigan.
