Gearbox Fantastique II — Steampunk Chicago’s upcoming event this April 14th!
I decided I wanted something I couldn’t produce with digital collage and old timey woodcuts. Time to break out the pens. The kraken and airship are separate sketches. I used my trusty mechanical pencil (the same one I’ve been using since high school), followed by tracing the lines and adding in shading with some fine-tipped felt pens.
Coloring and texturing was done in the computer.
